Campsite Chairperson
Our chairperson is selected by both Colchester North District and Colchester Estuary District to be responsible for the day-to-day running of the campsite.
Bob Candler
Bob is responsible for the day-to-day running of the campsite and chairs our Volunteer Running Team meetings, where updates and progress about the campsite is developed.
Volunteer Running Team
The Volunteer Running Team meet once a month and are responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the Campsite, and report to both District Lead Volunteers and the Oversight Team on a quarterly basis.

District Lead Volunteers
The responsibility of Thorrington Scout Camp is split equally between Colchester North and Colchester Estuary Districts. The two districts provide oversight to the campsite via the Thorrington Scout Camp Oversight Team (TSCOT) who hold meetings on a quarterly basis. As part of the TSCOT framework each district has an allocated lead volunteer that is responsible for overseeing the campsites development.
Ian Welch
Ian represents Colchester North District. It is his role to ensure that Thorrington runs effectively and develops per the District plan, and is fulfilling its obligations in accordance with Scouting Policy.
Colin Batchelor
Colin represents Colchester Estuary District. It is his role to ensure that Thorrington runs effectively and develops per the District plan, and is fulfilling its obligations in accordance with Scouting Policy.
